As the first company in China to develop and produce PVP, NKY Phama has accumulated more than 30 years of industry experience. In recent years, it has mainly focused on improving the quality of old products, optimizing processes, developing new products, expanding new uses and new fields, etc. The products involved include PVP series, NVP copolymers, maleic copolymers, multifunctional monomer cross-linked products and other functional new materials. NKY Pharma's many independent research and development achievements have filled the domestic gap. As of 2024, it has obtained 3 international PCT patents, 13 Chinese invention patents and 84 other IPs.

Specifically for product applications, we have completed the production process development of PVP K30 powder for lithium batteries, the production process for high disintegration performance PVPP, research on the production process of insoluble PVP with high adsorption performance, the production process development of high-stability povidone iodine, high K value PVP production process improvement and other projects. In terms of monomer synthesis process development and improvement, we have completed the production process R&D of high-purity vinyl methyl ether, the production process development of high-purity N-vinyl caprolactam, the synthesis process research of vinyl glycol ether, and the continuous production process development of high-purity NVP.

The Orarez® series are innovative products that our company has independently developed for more than ten years, breaking the monopoly of multinational giants and winning a good reputation for our company. Since the project was launched in 2008, the NKY R&D team, led by chief scientist Dr. Ulmer, has conducted preliminary research and product pilot testing; from 2016 to 2018, the R&D team continued to improve the polymerization process, and the production team tackled the optimization of standard operating procedures, successfully controlling the differences between product batches, improving the safety of the process, and significantly improving product quality. In 2019, low-viscosity products were further developed to expand the Orarez® series product line.

At present, NKY Phama R&D department has three branches under its jurisdiction: the Boai Factory R&D Center, the Shanghai International Polymer Materials R&D Center, and the Tianjin Research Institute. The Boai Factory R&D Center and the Tianjin Research Institute have accumulated more than 20 years of R&D investment by the company. In addition to complete R&D and testing conditions, they are also equipped with the most advanced pilot bases for automated control of synthesis, polymerization, separation, and drying equipment in China, which fully meet the process and quality optimization needs of the existing product market. The Shanghai International Polymer Materials R&D Center was established in 2024 with a focus on long-term business growth. It has a synthetic R&D group responsible for studying the relationship between polymer structure and performance and the development of new polymers. At the same time, it has several application R&D groups led by senior industry experts to fully understand the needs of customers in various segments and solve the problems of industry applications. At present, it has carried out joint application R&D with some well-known international and domestic customers.
