Product Standards: Electronic Grade.
Specifications: Based on the polymer molecular weight and the viscosity of the aqueous solution, the K value is calculated and divided into the following types.
Types | K value | viscosity average molecular weight | Main applications |
K12 | 10.2-13.8 | 3,000-7,000 | Solubilizer, dispersant. |
K15 | 12.75-17.25 | 8,000-12,000
K17 | 15.3-18.36 | 10,000-16,000
K25 | 22.5-27.0 | 30,000-40,000 | Film forming agent, morphological regulator, dispersant. |
K30 | 27-32.4 | 45,000-58,000

NKY ® Nano PVP dispersion regulation mechanism
In the synthesis and dispersion process of silver and copper powders, PVP plays multiple roles. Firstly, PVP is an excellent stabilizer that combines with the nanomaterial crystal faces through the C=O and C-N structures in its amide groups. The hydrophobic carbon chains extend into the solvent and interact to generate a repulsive force, forming a steric hindrance effect, which stabilizes nano and sub-micron structures and prevents particle collisions and aggregation. Due to the ultra-fine particle size and large specific surface area of nano and sub-micron materials, it is extremely difficult to disperse them in solvents under the action of van der Waals forces between the particles. PVP can encapsulate nano and sub-micron particles, reduce the van der Waals forces between particles, elongate the distance between particles, and achieve a dispersion effect. PVP is also commonly a morphological control agent. By adsorbing on specific crystal face, it reduces the surface energy of those faces and hinders their growth. For example, when PVP is dispersed in a glycol system, PVP strongly binds to the {100} face of Ag, allowing growth along the {111} direction and obtaining Ag nanowires.

Application Example:
Using NKY® Nano PVP K30 as a dispersant and morphological regulator, ascorbic acid (VC) as a reducing agent, and silver nitrate as the precursor, sub-micrometer spherical silver particles are prepared through a liquid-phase chemical reduction method.
